We are always looking out for new talent to join our passionate, experienced team. We need imaginative and enthusiastic people who have an unkindled devotion for architecture.

The studios

We enjoy a vibrant studio culture founded on a friendly, hardworking approach. Our studios in Newcastle, Vancouver and Dublin are shaped to support collaboration and the respect we have for different techniques of creating architecture. We are proud of the diversity of our team, which includes skilled technicians, artists, photographers, interior designers, graphic designers, and architects at all levels in their careers.

We also have a long history of model-making and hand-drawing, and our focus on creative expression is reflected in our spaces, particularly our Newcastle studio, which has evolved with us constantly to support our design process and includes an in-house model workshop.

The people

At FaulknerBrowns we want to support your development throughout your career journey. We have an established mentoring and training programme that helps our team to excel, both in practice and academically, and we encourage our staff to take an active role in professional groups and the wider industry.

Our studios are sociable and inclusive. We offer flexible working arrangements and a four-and-a-half-day week, and our team includes wellbeing advocates to foster a healthy and supportive environment for everyone. We organise regular social events, from cycle rides to exhibitions and international study trips, to make sure we enjoy time outside of the studio, as well as in it.

We also provide financial support for staff who wish to explore further academic study or qualifications and we support several apprenticeship schemes, such as PlanBEE, to inspire the next generation of creative talent to find their place and contribute to our work.

“FaulknerBrowns offer students an ideal platform to develop skills vital to leading a successful project. From working as part of a design team on major projects, through to the company mentorship and professional studies programme, the practice goes above and beyond to enable students to become highly-skilled, creative professionals.”

“I’ve worked at FaulknerBrowns for 13 years. No two days are the same, and that’s what has made my career so interesting. I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects and different aspects of work. The role is always changing and developing and you as a technologist, need to change, adapt and develop to accompany that.”
