Studio Ceramics

A collaboration fit for purpose, and fit for function.

Since launching our revitalised brand identity, developed in collaboration with Urgent.Agency, we’ve been investing in the materials that shape our everyday studio life, the tools that quietly express who we are and what we value.

From new sketchbooks by paper specialists Pith to bespoke business cards by Print Love, every detail is considered, and next we turned our attention towards new mugs.

As a practice, we collectively enjoy over 3,000 cups of coffee each month. It could be argued that mugs are as important towards our productivity as computers and stationery.... This small but essential part of daily studio life deserved the same level of care we bring to our architectural work.

We approached Clive Fiddis, craftsman and owner of Annadale Brick Works in Belfast, whose hand-crafted ceramics embody precision, patience, and purpose. Together, we developed a design that reflects our shared commitment to quality and a collaboration that celebrates the connection between design and craft.

From the first sketches and test throws to glazing combinations and final stamps, every step mirrored the way we approach our projects: through curiosity, dialogue, and attention to detail.

Photographer Ellen Hancock, who previously captured our studio spaces, documented Clive’s process from wheel to kiln, revealing the beauty in making and the quiet rhythm of craft.

“We both like quality. We both like detail.”

This has resulted in a collaboration fit for purpose, and indeed, fit for function.  It is a reminder that connection, design integrity, and authenticity can shape the spaces we create and the culture we live every day.
