The RIBA YAPF Young Professionals Awards took place last week, held at The Old Coal Yard in Newcastle to celebrate and recognise the work of many early-career professionals in the North East.
We were thrilled to see FaulknerBrowns studio members Jay Hallsworth win the Architectural Creativity Award and Lee Thackray win Apprentice of the Year – and Architectural Image of the Year, which was judged live on the night.
Congratulations to our fellow practice nominees, Ken Alford and Miranda Hornsby, who were shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year and the Collaborative Attitude award respectively.
A huge thank you to all involved at RIBA North East and the YAPF community for organising and hosting such a fantastic event. The craftwork by PLYable Design towards the awards themselves provided a playful finishing touch, and we look forward to celebrating the future pioneers of architecture again next year!
