Sportcampus Zuiderpark at World Architecture Festival
Sportcampus Zuiderpark has been shortlisted to compete against the world's best buildings at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) which begins in Amsterdam on 28th November. This is the third consecutive year we have featured in the shortlist for this prestigious celebration of global architecture.
The innovative sports campus which is located in The Hague, the Netherlands, is shortlisted in the 'Sport - Completed Buildings’ category and if successful, will be considered for the overall title of ‘World Building of the Year 2018’. The project is also in the running to receive the festival’s special ‘Use of Colour' prize.
Sportcampus Zuiderpark provides The Hague and communities around the Zuiderpark, the opportunity to train and develop talent, as well as create positive momentum for movement and sport. The overriding aim is to emphasize the importance of sport and exercise through learning and engagement, for the amateur as well as the elite athlete, using sport as the inspiration to deliver a healthier community and society.
Earlier in the year the sports campus was shortlisted by the Dutch Association of Architects (BNA) to receive the ‘Best Building of the Year Award’, the most revered architecture prize in the Netherlands.
