The Kiln Light
Kiln is a collection inspired by the shapes and processes of industrial glass making, designed by FaulknerBrowns in collaboration with manufacturers Atelje Lyktan. The cone shaped furnaces and kilns of Sunderland’s former riverside industry are referenced in the Kiln’s blown glass shade, which is invisibly bonded onto a spun base plate.
Illumination from a hidden LED provides a soft light, reflected by the crown of the glass shade. Stems inspired by blowpipes are provided in two lengths, for a floor light and table light.
The Kiln is a feature light, born from the industrial heritage of making.
