Prince Harry visits Sportcampus Zuiderpark
Last week, HRH Duke of Sussex visited Sportcampus Zuiderpark in The Hague, the Netherlands, which is undergoing major preparations for the Invictus Games in 2020. The Prince is a Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, which uses the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women. 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands during World War II, and the games will thereby carry further themes of civil resilience.
Originally held in London, this year’s event will take place in Sydney, having previously been hosted in Orlando and Toronto, extending the ambitions of the event and celebrating sport on a truly global basis.
We are immensely proud to see that the legacy of Sportcampus Zuiderpark is flourishing, with the thorough use of its flexible facilities to host a multi-faceted sports event of such calibre. The entirety of Invictus 2020 will be held around the ‘national monument’ Zuiderpark with Sportcampus at its heart, whilst taking full advantage of the larger masterplan.
