Market Hall Fulham in Revo shortlist
Market Hall Fulham has been shortlisted in the prestigious Revo Gold Awards. Held annually, the awards recognise and celebrate the very best examples of development in the retail property and placemaking sector.
The project is one of three schemes in the running for the Re:lax award, an accolade which showcases exemplars of how the hospitality and leisure industries are reshaping the overall customer experience.
Completed earlier this year, Market Hall Fulham is a high street hub dedicated to home-grown food and drink. It is the first in a string of openings planned by Market Halls, a group of UK-based, community-minded property investors and entrepreneurs, that with our help, are aiming to redefine the British concept of food halls, turning unloved disused spaces with special architectural or historic interest, public again.
Housed in the Edwardian Grade II listed former ticket hall of Fulham Broadway station, Market Hall Fulham brings together ten independent traders, from local favourites to street food stars, each offering different cuisines. Alongside these is a bar in the former ticket office and a large communal dining area.
The scheme has sympathetically restored and brought back into use a building designed by Harry Wharton Ford in the 1880s, which had been vacant for six years prior to the redevelopment. Market Hall Fulham has transformed the space into a high quality, vibrant and sustainable destination for local residents, workers and visitors to Fulham.
In addition, Rochdale Borough Council has been shortlisted in the Re:generate category for the successful regeneration of Rochdale town centre, a scheme spearheaded by our design and delivery of Number One Riverside, a highly efficient and versatile office building for the council, conceived as a catalyst for regeneration of the riverside area and wider town centre. In 2014, Number One Riverside was awarded the title of ‘Best of the Best’ by the British Council for Offices.
